This is a Ross coaster brake bike from the 1970s. It’s the bike you use when you ride to yoga class or the minimart for beer and cigarettes. No need to fire up the Ford or hoof it when this relic is just what the doctor ordered. Free of klunky deraileurs and squealing handbrakes this no-nonsense coaster brake singlespeed bike is as honest as the day is long and is just the thing to ferry you about town. Not much need to lock it at your destination; just leave your hat on the handlebars like you would do in a theatre to indicate that “this seat is taken”.
The coaster brake is the only brake on the bike and has been freshly packed with Shimano high temperature coaster brake grease by volunteer mechanics at BikeBuddies in Hood River. Size is medium-small but pretty much anybody who can comfortably operate the coaster brake is able to ride it. The tires on it appear to be in good condition and are 26x1 3/8 (BSD 590)- not a size common in bike shops but widely available online.
